Daily Devotional | Facing Your Giants

1 Samuel 17:45 NIV
“David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”

Many times, when bad things happen to a believer, God becomes their enemy! God can not be an enemy of His children, but ‘ever present in the time of need’. When you are facing any giant, you have to use the winning weapon to be victorious, The name of the Lord. The Bible said that “The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous runs into it, and are saved”. (Proverbs 18:10) When you decide to be truthful to yourself, and to the word of God, rest assured, when you call on Him, you will be answered.

The Israelites faced a giant, Goliath. With their might and weapons, Goliath held them in fear for forty days! But when the shepherd boy David came, he called on God, his Savior, and to him, the commander of the armies of Israel! Winning your giants can be easy or impossible, depending on the weapon you use! Note that the choice of the weapon is solely yours. You can choose today to vanquish your giants by trusting God alone, and become obedient to Him or you can search the world, high and low only to find out, there is nobody greater than Jesus!  Rebellious Christians are always the casualties of every spiritual warfare. God intends us to be conquerors, but honoring Him and obedience is key.

Where you put your trust will determine your outcome. “The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph over my enemies. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes. All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I cut them down. They surrounded me on every side, but in the name of the Lord I cut them down.” (Psalm 118:7-11 NIV)

How can you reverse your circumstance today? Study the word of God and show yourself approved is one way. David won sin through repentance. Naaman got healed through humility. The tax collector saved himself by paying all the people he cheated. The woman with the issue of blood got healed by touching Jesus. What is your giant? Apply the Lord to it and you will testify that the Lord is near to all that trust Him.  Stay connected, win your giant. God bless you, in Jesus name.

Scripture of the day: Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. ~ (Proverbs 3: 5-6)

I am blessed to know that only God can defeat my giants. I will make the first priority to find a Christian Church of worship, and serve God. Thank you the Living Word team, and keep up the good work!
