Daily Devotional | Serve God Wholeheartedly

Matthew 19:29 NKJV
“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.
Christ did not incite division among family, but to strengthen believers so that when our belief becomes stronger,  some members of our family will strive to stumble us.  Ignore them, and focus strongly on Him and His teachings.
Serving the Lord is one thing, but serving Him wholeheartedly is another. In today’s Christianity, people have lost their commitment to serve faithfully. Many believe that to put their best is increasing the overseer, priest or pastor.  the truth is this; these are people God established to run His affairs here on earth. Service to and with them is service to God.  Every service a man gives to another in the name of God is a service to God, and anyone that serves God increases. I believe that we need to refocus our Christian objectives and serve God with all our mind, might, and resources. Remember that whatever you have is a gift from God, and giving back to Him can only increase you and not diminish you.
A believer’s first duty is to serve God by sharing His goodness. In Mark 16, we are empowered to go and preach the good news to all men, and those that believe us, we shall baptize and empower! This assignment is for all believers, and must be done carefully, and by all. It was the first commission before the release of the spiritual gifts of the book of Acts(Acts 1&2). This calling is a call to duty, and demands to be treated as the first priority. This means that everything else should be secondary.  Whoever and whatever discourages this, is an enemy to your divine release – a hundredfold of earthly blessings and eternal life!
“Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these other things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33)  Are you fulfilling this commission? Pray about it, ask the Holy Spirit to empower you. Start with yourself, to your family, then to neighbors and your community. You will testify that God is faithful concerning His promises – a hundredfold of blessings and eternal life.
Scripture of the Day: As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace. ~ 1 Peter 4:10
