Daily Devotional | Walking In The Light

Ephesians 5:8-11 NKJV
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”
Walking in the light should be every believers aspiration and path. It is the integral part of victory over Satan. God said, “Let there be light, and there was light” (Genesis 1:3)
The scripture says …”all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) “So we were saved by grace, not by our works, neither any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:5) As a believer, our walk with the Lord should be faithfully motivated and humbly secured. In today’s microwave era, we want the miracle without the test and discipline.  That in essence will not last, because anything that is not tested is not proven! When you made your declaration to serve Christ, test will come to you from all directions. This includes those things you were delivered from.
Remember, to be born-again is to receive the heart of Christ through repentance. You still live in the same world, around the same people living the life you rejected.  Once received as a child of God, you become ‘The Light’ of the world, and around you darkness disappears! Consistantly living in the light is very important. This means that you have to constantly reject all things that offend God. For example; sexual misconducts, greed, gossip, rebellion, unfaithfulness, unforgiveness, slander, hatred (racism) and all manners of wickedness. These and many more are characters of darkness, and if anyone says that they are in the light but engages in the above, deceives him or herself.
In the light, we should be able to examine and re-examine ourselves on a daily basis, using the bible as a guide, which is the only true written word of God. Through testimony, expose the evil ways of darkness you once lived. By doing this, you are leading the way, shining as the light, warning people that’s considering a dark path. Can you start today? Tomorrow is not guaranteed!! Pray and ask God for strength. In Jesus name.
Scripture of the day:  I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles. ~ Isaiah 42:6
