Daily Devotional | Developing Patience

Lamentations 3:25, 26 NKJV
“The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the Lord.

Have you missed a very important THING due to lack of patience? Or, a vital opportunity simply because you can not wait for the appointed time? A good  husband or wife… A job, business opportunity,  or whatever you’re waiting for?

Patience is a spiritual gift, the gift of the Holy Spirit. Waiting on God is proof of trust. It provides God time to address the problems we encounter as we grow in knowing Him, and fight the required battles needed for your victory. When you go ahead of God, you deny Him the right to be God! You are serving a God of miracle, in who’s hand and word is power!! So learn how to be patient, and wait. “But let patience have  its  perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.  If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him”. (James 1:4, 5 NKJV)

Patience guarantees favorable results, knowing that the time you spend waiting is not wasted. Our God rewards those that diligently seeks Him (Hebrews 11:6)  Make your waiting time a learning time. Study God’s word and claim all that pertains to your circumstance. Patience reveals and resolves truth, it also enables you to gather accurate and unattained information.

What is it you are waiting on God for? Is anything or person telling you to try another means to make it come quicker? Are you tired?  Do not believe them, Satan is at work!! Sometimes, waiting longer brings a better and lasting result. Ask those who have a testimony as a result of waiting on God to bring about change . The Bible said in Isaiah 40:31 “..but those that waits upon the Lord shall renew their strength.”  Be assured that in their lives, when God shows up, He will reward all your time spent waiting on him.  Do not settle for less. It is a test of your patience. God loves you.

While waiting, find something to do for the Lord. Avoid hopeless engagements – running around, testing churches. Be steadfast and serve others with what you have left. May God continue to uphold you. Your miracle is on the way. Amen.

I agree with being patience and waiting on God, I waited over 20 years to find out where I belonged…..I feel very happy and content in this place. I know that I have a lot to learn, I feel that if God brought me this far He will continue to Bless me in the future!

I am touched by Tasleem’s testimony. I will also continue to wait on the Lord for my blessings. I know that patience is a virtue that God admires, though not easy to apply! Thank you Jesus!
