Daily Devotional | Living In Freedom

Psalm 119:43-45 NIV
“Never take your word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws. I will always obey your law, for ever and ever. I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.
Living freely is freedom. Freedom is a life free of fear; fear of living and fear of dying. Freedom is a price paid by those that gave it. In most instances, freedom costs the life of another, the ultimate sacrifice. As a believer, Christ has paid the price for your sins if you believe Him as your Lord and Savior! You alone have to make that choice.
God is like the playground fence, He provides certain limits not to contain us but to provide us safe freedom within the area.  The thing about God is that he never locks the gate.  We have the choice to stay within the fenced area or not.  However, within the fenced area – which is so much larger than what people give God credit for – we have freedom, love and hope.  The people in Jerusalem wanted ‘freedom’ and so God gave it to them.  They decided that they would make all their own decisions and not stay true to God’s laws and so He freed them, and they were conquered by another nation.  God truly desires what is best for us.  The wisdom we can gain from the Bible is given to assist us, not to bind us up.  The fences in faith are to give us great freedom, not to restrict our lives. 1 Peter  2:16 put it this way; “Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.
For those who are slaves to addiction.. You need to receive the Spirit of the Lord inside, and then He will help you denounce drug, alcohol, sexual and whatever addiction you’re battling with. “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1)  through obedience, you will surely walk in freedom.
Those that reject the word of God (history can attest to this fact) ended so messed up. Children that refused to obey their parents, husbands and wives that dis-honored their vows, priests that rebelled against their master, nations that oppressed their citizens, etc….
Today, apart from God, you are the only one that can confirm if you are really free. Take a moment to evaluate yourself. Listen to the Holy Spirit and answer this big question;  Are you a believer in Jesus Christ?  If yes, commit your burden to Christ and You will be set free. For those that do not know Christ as Lord and Savior, make that decision today… Ask for His forgiveness, and plant yourself in a living church. The GRACE and LOVE of God is greater that your sins. Do not wait any longer, gain your freedom. Christ has redeemed you. Stay blessed, in Jesus name, Amen.
Scripture of the day: So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. ~ John 8:36

Thank you for showing me that God’s Laws are liberty and not a form of prison or slavery, but a way to keep us free.
