Psalm 95: 1-6 says, “O come let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.”
One of the great commandments is to give thanksgiving to God, for all He has done for us. As Christians we are taught to, Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise, be thankful unto him, and bless his name. I am proud to say, we kept our commandment. Two years ago God revealed his vision for The Living Word Ministries. Yesterday, We were honored to stand before God, giving thanks through praise and worship for all he has done for us. The Spirit of the Lord was present!
Giving praise to the Lord is one of the best ways to express your thanks. Why praise God? Because he is powerful, righteous, able, infinite, He represents strength, and is everlasting. Realize who God is and who we are not. “Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us and not we ourselves; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.” (Psalm 100:3,4) We need to recognize that all blessings come from above.
When was the last time you gave thanks to God? Start today by remembering him, recognize his hand in your life; show thanks through prayer, have an attitude of gratitude. You don’t have to do all these at once, but start somewhere! Be blessed.
