Daily Devotional | A Christian

Luke 21:14, 15 NIV
“But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.”
Are you a Christian? A Christian is someone who believes in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. That means acknowledging, following, serving, listening and obeying Christ (The Word), as well as putting all trust in Him. We are told in Luke 21:14 to make up our mind in doing this, because, it is not a game of chess! If your mind is made-up, worry, fear, and anxiety will disappear. This is not because we are fearless, but because our Christ defends those that truly trust Him. Once you wholeheartedly trust Him, then God will crown you with protection (defense), then WORDS and WISDOM (authority) will follow. When you have authority, whatever you decree must come to pass. Why? because your mindset and will become that of God. You will hear through the Holy Spirit, see through the Holy Spirit, and be guided by the Holy Spirit. You can not be redundant. Amen.
The giants we encounter take on many forms; Fear, loss, lack, sickness, spiritual wickedness, human agents, oppression, governments, curses, death, etc! When a believer is equipped spiritually, they are forewarned on what is to come. That means, nothing shall become overwhelming anymore, with God as your defender.
As a Christian, you will suffer many things as Christ did. This is to test your truism, though we are not made for the Cross. Only Jesus was meant for the Cross, so that we wont perish. When we are facing affliction, we should have faith in our Lord and Savior. Even when things aren’t going in our favor, we must trust Him, because His ways are not and will never be our ways.
Joseph was sold, lied against, hated, denied, but God made him a governor in a foreign land! All the contradictions of his enemies (brothers) were shattered through promotion and empowerment!! Yet, his dream came to pass! The bigger your dream, the greater your trial. Due to your divine connection, and assignment (Serving Christ and His Kingdom), the Bible say; “Everyone will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. Stand firm, and you will win life. (Luke 21:17-19 NIV)
Standing firm is the key to any successful Christian. Do not focus on the wrong and bitter experiences. Believe me, these experiences are necessary, but only God knows the purpose and the outcome. Be strong as your Lord said. Let your test be turned into a testimony today. ‘If God is for you, no man can be against you’. That is a promise (Romans 8).
Are you ready for the bold step of faith today? Answer the call, and Christ will strengthen you. Amen.
Scripture of the day: But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. ~ 1 peter 2:9
