“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Prayer is a spiritual power that anyone can exhibit, a communion with God our creator. Prayer is a demonstration of loyalty, agreement, fellowship and faithfulness. As the scripture says, we must pray without ceasing! This means that whenever we cease to pray, we cease to believe? A prayerful person is a powerful person. He/she is in agreement with God, and God alone answers all prayers. Prayer is a KEY that unlocks all spiritual promises, breaks all spiritual hindrances and delivers from all demons. Satan hates a praying believer!
Effectively, there are various types of prayer. Here are a few:
(1). Thanksgiving Prayer: In this type of prayer, the person praying is thanking God for all His goodness, kindness, faithfulness, healing, provisions, deliverance, love, … Today, it is one of the most effective prayers. When you aren’t sure what to pray, it is necessary to leave God to be God. This is my reason for recommending this type of prayer because the Bible reassures that God knows what is good for us, His children. Thus, He said “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find  Me,  when you search for Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:11-13 NKJV). So in joy, we thank God for laying his plans, thoughts and success for us.
(2). Intercessory Prayer: this is a prayer or a petition the intercessor is making on behalf of another person; for healing, protection or blessings. Jesus was the model for this kind of prayer. He consistently prayed for His disciples. As a Christian, you owe your fellow Christian this duty, to intercede on their behalf. It is not a role or assignment, but a responsibility that you have to cultivate. Intercessors are usually not the fore-runners of today’s churches, they are people who have the success of others at heart. “And the Lord said,  “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to  Me,  strengthen your brethren.” But he said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death.” (Luke 22:31-33 NKJV). We are all called to intercede for each others. It not a thing of pride, position or rank. We are intercessors!
(3). Others includes, Prayer of faith, Prayer of agreement and Prayer of dedication or consecration. In practice there is much overlap in all of these prayers. Various times, we have combined different types to draw God’s attention. The bottom-line is that we must pray.
TH POWER OF PRAYER can not be ignored, neglected or diminished. It has more power than a nuclear bomb. The entire bible is filled with victories by ordinary people like us who through prayer, killed giants ( Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” (1 Samuel 17:36 NKJV), raised the dead (When Elisha came into the house, there was the child, lying dead on his bed. He went in therefore, shut the door behind the two of them, and prayed to the Lord. He returned and walked back and forth in the house, and again went up and stretched himself out on him; then the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes. (2 Kings 4:32, 33, 35 NKJV), received their healing ( So Abraham prayed to God; and God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female servants. Then they bore  children; (Genesis 20:17 NKJV), got married to the men of their dream (Now let it be that the young woman to whom I say, ‘Please let down your pitcher that I may drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink’— let  her  be the one  You have appointed for Your servant Isaac. And by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.” (Genesis 24:14 NKJV), gained the favors of the king (Nehemiah 2), were vindicated (See now, I have prepared  my case, I know that I shall be vindicated. (Job 13:18 NKJV), received double anointing (And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?” Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.”(2 Kings 2:9 NKJV), became rich (The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. (Genesis 39:2 NKJV), received revelations from God (Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven. (Daniel 2:19 NKJV), were delivered from the enemy (For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, (Philippians 1:19 NKJV), received salvation (While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. (Acts 10:44 NKJV), etc.
Every prayer is powerful. It is empowered by the tongue. The power of the tongue is life. It is also death. And the only thing that can create or kill is what man wants, or fears.
Jesus said, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” (John 15:7 NKJV) Wow! The power of every prayer is locked in obedience to God, and reminding Him of His Words. That is prayer. That is the power of prayer. Regardless what manner it comes; worship, praise, intercessory, thanksgiving, agreement, ad infinitum, it is powerful. It is greater, more powerful than all the demons, Satan and evil people put together.
Do you pray? Always? Or do you pray only when you have problems, challenges or afraid? Do you still rely solely on the prayers of other people to sustain you, or do you pray in agreement with others? Believe it or not, prayer is the MASTER KEY! It is the only thing that can wedge, stop and conquer you enemies, and release your desires. Pray as you have never done before. It has power. Start today! You still have a lot to achieve. God bless you.
Scripture of the day: if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. ~ 2 Chronicles 7:14-15
