Daily Devotional | Walk In Integrity

2 Corinthians 3:3 NIV
“You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”
AS A BELIEVER, YOU MUST WALK IN INTEGRITY! The word INTEGRITY simply means Honesty, Truth, Truthfulness, Honor, Veracity, Reliability and Uprightness. The opposite is Dishonesty!
According to the verse (2 Corinthians 3:3), Paul wrote that; “You (must, [my emphasis]) show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts”. This simply means that your life, lifestyles, fellowship, character, ways, talks, etc must duplicate that of your savior, mentor and Christ! Now that is a calling for integrity.
In real life, we all get tons of mail every year. As some are considered junk mail, some are of very importance. They tell you the truth about your health, financial position, driving mistakes and records. These letters, regardless how you treat them, represent your character, status and personality. The same is our walk with Jesus. I know that many religions have watered down the truism of the gospel, but the fact remains that you are the ‘letter from Christ’, ‘the ambassador of Jesus Christ’ (2 Corinthians 5:20), sent to culture, mentor and instruct others into the Way, Truth and Life of the Savior (John 14:6).
Integrity is not an option, but a requirement to effective christianity. We may not like it due to the hatred, persecutions, and attention it will attract, but it is required. It is a godly character that can be built up gradually, if you start today. The devil hates that, and runs away from it. Integrity is a winners weapon, and has never lost a battle.
(1). Integrity is a guide to life, attracting the vindication from the Lord himself. “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity”. (Proverbs 11:3 NIV). A man of his word is valued better a king without honor. It is a proof of God within.
(2). Integrity is a covering that protects the righteous. God calls them sons and daughters! It is a key that assists you when pleading your case with God. Job said; “Repent, do not be unjust; reconsider, for my integrity is at stake”. (Job 6:29 NIV). God always responds at the evil attacks on the upright. It defends you.
(3). As you begin to develop this godly character, you will discover that fears and uncertainty will begin to dwindle. As you walk with the Holy Spirit, it unleashes humility, boldness and authority. The most important virtue is to select your friends! All that can not handle it will begin to leave you, and as such, you are better secured. “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out”. (Proverbs 10:9 NIV)
(4). Integrity causes hatred towards you, but attracts God’s defense for you. The Bible commands us to walk with equally yoked people (2 Corinthians 6:14). This should not be an embarkment to hate and racism, but to be protected from their ways of life. An unbeliever is like our modern-day hustler, who does not care how they get whatever they want. Walking with them can only deplete you, except your meeting is to be the letter, and turn them to Christ.  “The bloodthirsty hate a person of integrity and seek to kill the upright”. (Proverbs 29:10 NIV). When you listen to the Holy Spirit, He will show you who is ready for conversion. But to hear Him requires your integrity.
(5). “May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, Lord, is in you.” (Psalm 25:21 NIV). As a garment of covering, God responds to you when things go soar. Your defense will come in a flash. Amen.
What are you going to do differently today? Are you going to start this journey, building on this rock that never fails? Remember that this is a choice, and when you make the right chose, the Lord will honor you.
David said; “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing. Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever. For the Lord loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. Wrongdoers will be completely destroyed; the offspring of the wicked will perish. The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever. The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom, and their tongues speak what is just”. (Psalm 37:25-30 NIV) Go! Change your world, and God be with you, in Jesus Name. Amen.
Scripture of the day: providing honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men. ~ (2 Corinthians 8:21 NKJV)
