Psalm 138:2 NKJV
“I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your loving-kindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.

WHAT HAPPENED? A lot of people are asking this question daily, without answers. In today’s devotional, I want to answer that big question. Read on.

Due to time, societal trends, what is in vogue and other mass media, many people have crossed the line; the spiritual lines that attracts God’s attention, corrections and judgement. This is a serious case that needs our re-evaluation, correction and change.

To the Romans, Apostle Paul was able to identify some of these areas where the Romans (Christians in Rome/us in the present time) have abused the grace given by God, and followed their callous hearts and ways. Romans chapter 1 gave us a detailed answers, as explained in the few points below. please, note these points carefully;

(1). PREACH THE GOSPEL…
The Gospel must be preached without fear or shame, regardless who it offends, so that the Power of God may be revealed; WHY? God exalts His word above all His Name ( Psalms 138:2)

Romans 1:16-17 (16) “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (17) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”

(2). WHY DO WE HAVE TO PREACH THE GOSPEL?
We owe everyone the truth of God’s word. You need to know God’s attributes, His standards, limits, and rewards. In the gospel, God’s characters are expanded.

Paul said; ” Romans 1:18-20 (18) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; (19) Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. (20) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

(3).WHAT HAPPENED?
(a) Romans 1:21 “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” (b). Romans 1:22 “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,” They became proud, selfish and arrogant. They ignored instruction, corrections and encouragement. They backslide, died and became vain. (c). Romans 1:23 “And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.”  They started to worship idols in the house of God, lost faith in God’s holiness, started to believe lies instead of the engrafted word of God that can not change, nor lose its power! They followed their mind, and maintained their lusts and itching ears. (d). Romans 1:25 “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever.” Amen. They denounced the truth, follow the TUBES instead of the TRUTH. Everything today is okay? No!!! When anything God rebukes becomes okay for you, something is wrong and you will, without doubt face consequences. False spirits, Angels, prophets, pastors, etc can tell you otherwise, but God says that it is not okay. His counsel stands forever and now, Whose account do you believe? (e). Romans 1:28 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;”   Whenever you reject the truth, for reasons that are Godly, especially the word of God, you are not far from other vices of evil like envy, jealousy, falsehood, malice, rebellion, division, un-forgiveness and un-repentance. (f). Romans 1:32 “Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”

(4). PAYBACK TIME
Romans 1:24. LUSTFUL AND BOASTFUL (24) Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

Romans 1:26-27. WICKED AND BOLD (26) For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: (27) And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was met. The spread of the virus HIV etc was as a result of these shameful practices. Listen to me my friends, God is all-knowing. He can not, and has never been wrong! The devil is duping and misleading you.

Romans 1:29-31. DEAD MEN WALKING (29)Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, (30) Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, (31)Without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

If people come to Christ on the basis of personal benefit and agenda, they may be coming for the wrong reason. Jesus came to save us from our_______ (Matt. 1:21), not from our unhappiness or our loneliness or our unsuccessful way of living. These things are surface symptoms of a much deeper and more fundamental problem: man is not in a right relationship with his Creator because of SIN. When this fundamental problem is solved then the minor surface problems will be corrected as well. Sadly most people are ignorant of what the big problem really is. The thing that they are concerned about the least is the thing which they should be concerned about the most: THE SIN PROBLEM! REPENT!

Scripture of the day:  1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? ~ (Romans 6:1-2 NIV)
