Daily Devotional | God’s Infalliable Promise: ARISE AND SHINE

Isaiah 60:1 AMP
“ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you–rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!”

Arise and shine, says our God! What is greater than the word of our Lord? Nothing! Do you know that the word of God is valued more than all His names? The reason is simple; even the liars, heathen, occults, etc calls God! But as the taste of the pudding is in the eating, you as a believer should watch if they are in-line with the word of God; the Bible. David realized this as Saul prophesied and still wanted to kill David, so he said; “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” (Psalms 138:2). If you believe this, then I would like to encourage you today, that your ‘tests will be turned into a testimony’, and the enemies in your life will vanish as the wind carries the chaff. Amen.

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.” (Isaiah 60:1) As you will see, this is not a plea from the prophet, but as the messenger of the Lord, God of the universe, Isaiah was sent to tell the children of God who have been broken, rejected, dejected, hopeless, fearful, deprived, and even running for their dear life, that God has taken over! Hallelujah!! They were COMMANDED to arise i.e.. Get up and ignore their pains, and follow Him their Savior. The next command was (for us) to Shine. A person with a painful past to shine simply requires or entails two primary things. (1). To forget and (2). To obey and Trust.

Most of us still live in our various ‘Egypt’s’ i.e., painful pasts, even when we have become born-Again! This should not be. Our God says that we should ARISE and SHINE!

Your God remembers you, the bad news of today, losses of today, sicknesses of today and whatever that makes you afraid…it does not matter. “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee” (Isaiah 60:2). Listening to the testimonies of other believers, when the glory of God shines, nothing matters. For real! It is exposing, strengthening, and healing. The power of God manifests in His Glory. Arise and Shine!

Most believers fail to trust God’s word in its entirety. This is a sin that empowers Satan. As a Christian, the deed of your inheritance is revealed in the scripture. You have the right, above all odds to find those deeds, claim them and use them to possess your possessions, all of it. For example, it is your faith 101 to believe that your protection is God’s job, not yours. But to navigate and declare your position is in your hand. Remember that “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.”(Isaiah 54:17).  As a child of God, these authorities have been given. With humility, and obedience, you use it, and demons flee. This is a promise of God, “For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.” (Luke 21:15). Every word of God is a covenant. It is final.

What is your pain, fear or past that you can not let go of today? Who is it that has done wrong to you that you can not forgive? What have you lost that you think is impossible to regain? What, who and where is your giant that is impossible for God? Today, God says that you should ARISE and SHINE!

I know that various religions (occults) are offering various approach to different problems. But as a believer, you must rejoice that such things come against you. Your past happened to bring you to the truth, God, the head and end of all problems! Amen

The reward of serving God begins and ends with miracles. Look at some of the promises; ” Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. 5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee. 6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the Lord” (Isaiah 60:4-6). Also, “And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee. 11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought. 12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted” (Isaiah 60:10-12).

Do you believe God and His promises? Then you have to Arise, Shine and reveal the Glory of the Lord your God. Stay in the Light, and destroy all the darkness that attacks you. God bless you, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Scripture of the day: For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. ~ Jeremiah 29:11
