2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (NIV)
“Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”
Staying in the anointing of the Lord enables us to transform all impossibilities! Regardless what your shortfalls are, you are called into God’s righteousness and it is in your account to make it work. The challenge is for you to let your pasts; those pitiable pasts go. Remember that God is not interested in your past once He has pronounced his anointing over you. Amen.
Nearly one hundred and sixty years before king Cyrus was ever born, God declared to the prophet Isaiah that he would raise up this man, His shepherd, to rebuild His city. Even though at the time of Isaiah, Jerusalem was prospering and wouldn’t be destroyed for another 100 years by Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon.
The Lord’s prophecy begins at Isaiah 44:28: ‘Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd, And he shall perform all My pleasure, Saying to Jerusalem, “You shall be built,” And to the temple,” Your foundation shall be laid.” ‘ The Greek historian Herodotus, in Volume 1 of his history, records the wonderful story of how Cyrus miraculously escaped death at the time of his birth and how he was brought up by a shepherd who wasn’t even his father. Thus, fulfilling God’s spoken word to the prophet Isaiah.
We all can testify that we are not in any way qualified for the services or anointing we are carrying from God, but as He has done and spoken, it was bestowed on us, and there is nothing anybody can do about it. ‘You are called, period!’. “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
In today’s devotional, I want you to accept, with gratitude the gift and favor of God. Thank Him for being alive to serve Him. God loves those that love Him, and the world might not see your heart, but God knows. Today, I want you to be strengthened, while you give God all the glory your breath can give.
“THUS SAYS the Lord to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held to subdue nations before him, and I will unarm and ungird the loins of kings to open doors before him, so that gates will not be shut. I will go before you and level the mountains [to make the crooked places straight]; I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut asunder the bars of iron. And I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, Who calls you by your name” (Isaiah 45:1-3 AMP.)
We know that Cyrus was a pagan king, but for re-building Jerusalem, God anointed him. You must realize that God anointed you for ONLY HIS glory; for you to use it to re-build His Kingdom here on earth.
As the Lord’s anointed, there are some promises that God has made that depends on you to be fulfilled. Why you? For one truth I know, “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” (Numbers 23: 19 NIV). With this in mind, I therefore encourage us to let God be God in our lives, and stop treating Him like another friend today and an enemy tomorrow! God is a friend, forever. He gave his only begotten Son for your salvation (John 3:16), and still remain a friend that never fails (Proverbs 18:24).
Like Cyrus, we are all anointed to sit in worship and enjoy the blessings of God. He has promised to go before us in all circumstances, to deliver us in time of trouble, to favor us through success, to defeat all our enemies for us, to heal and bless us! Amen!
Do you believe God for all these promises? I do, and I am enjoying and basking in His presence, all the time!
Please, honor God with your substance, (all that you want to keep for yourself, also is for God). Do not seize His gifts in your life by not sharing. When you become a blessing in someone’s life, more blessings will come your way. If you obey God faithfully, you will overflow, prosper and live to see all His promises fulfill in your lifetime. Remember, “… no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the, “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God” (2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV).
Stay Blessed, and Focused. God Bless you.
Scripture of the day: As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. ~ 1 John 2:27 NIV
