Daily Devotional | False Prophecy

2 Thessalonians 2:9-11
The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie

By now  you probably have heard about the Mayan Calendar and the prediction or prophecy of the end of the world on December 21st, 2012.  Many others have seen the movie 2012 which predicts the end of the world as we know it. Born again Christians, there is no need to worry yourselves with propaganda.  As born-again believers, we must always consider the SOURCE of the information we are receiving.

You know, I’m curious to know how many believers have been deceived. I know non-believers are vulnerable to deception due to lack of knowledge of the teachings of Jesus Christ, but Christians, what’s your excuse?

The Bible clearly states, (Mark 13:31-32 NIV) Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.  “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Dear readers, this is why it’s vital to read your bible daily. Arm yourself with the word of God. The devil knows exactly the amount of deceit to add to a lie. Many of these false prophesies are rooted in occultism. Satan is the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4), who operates secretively through occult organizations to carry out his diabolic plans. False prophesies are derived from False prophets, who are unsaved heathens working relentlessly to keep our minds occupied on anything but the TRUTH!

A significant amount of Bible Scripture is devoted to prophecy and much of that deals with end times prophecy. Bible prophecy proves beyond doubt that God is in control and knows the future, not the mass media.

Until that time, we are told to be ready, be watchful, and repent of our sins (Matthew 24:42, 44). Have you done this? We do not know when that exact time will be. God give us, through prophecy, the signs of the times that lets us know how short time is for Jesus’ return. Our world will become more and more intolerant of God and His ways. People will lose love and compassion for each other (Matthew 24:12). Wars, famines, pestilence, and disease will reach proportions never seen before in our history. There will come a time known as the Great Tribulation that will last for 7 years (Matthew 24:21 and Revelation 7:14).

The Old Testament prophets (Isaiah, Daniel, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel) and the book of Revelation relay the visions and revelations given to God’s messengers. Through them we are told that midway through the 7 years, a man will emerge bringing a deceiving, false hope to all that do not know Jesus Christ. He is called the anti-Christ and has been groomed and set in place by Satan. He will seduce many and will be thought to have all the answers for bringing about world peace, thus becoming sole leader of a one-world government. He will be worshiped in place of God. At the end of the 7 years, Christ will return with His saints and through the battle of Armageddon, be victorious over Satan and the wicked of the earth.

There is no doubt end time bible prophesies are being fulfilled, just make sure you confirm the information you obtain with what the bible says about it. More importantly, what are you doing in the meantime? What’s in your heart? What if the world did end December 2012? Do you know Jesus as Lord and Savior?

Scripture of the day: And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. ~ Matthew 24:4 KJV
