“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”
“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well” (3 John 1:2 NIV).
The entire scripture is simply a written testament of God’s promises. It contains the paths, pits and climbs of life. Obeying it unleashes the divine promises, and defaulting on them brings woes. An example is the story at the garden of Eden… Eve chose her mind against God’s mind, and then sold the product to her husband Adam! Death came through spiritual divide, God separated Himself, alongside with His provisions, the garden!! This was the story of suffering, hard labor, and bitterness.
According to the scientists, most sickness is related to stress. As a Pastor, most stress is related to sin. You may shout out ‘this is not true’, but wait until I finish. Sin begins when we do anything against God’s commands. When we choose to live, speak, think, work, date, marry, relate, eat, pray, act, dress, etc., against God’s will, we have just opened a gate to the enemy, Satan and his demons. This in fact, deplete, diminishes and derails the divine balance God set for us, and sickness starts.
On the other hand, listening and doing or keeping the rules of God commands total faithfulness to His word. “Then it shall come to pass, because you listen to these judgments, and keep and do them, that the Lord your God will keep with you the covenant and the mercy which He swore to your fathers. And He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flock, in the land of which He swore to your fathers to give you. You shall be blessed above all peoples; there shall not be a male or female barren among you or among your livestock. And the Lord will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you.” (Deuteronomy 7:12-15 NKJV).
In today’s world, many strange diseases have flooded the people, even the health care providers are so confused about the cures. Medications are on a trial and error basis, and lawyers are making fortunes in law suites! Why? People have not acknowledged, or have ignored or rejected their creator. When sin is at its greatest as it is now, the only way out is a Savior, God who heals and forgives. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV). This commands everybody, no exemption, but all that lives on this planet earth to trust God for healing, with the first step being to repent from sins.
Do you consider yourself a sinner? Are you sick in any way; physically, spiritually, financially, mentally, martially, etc? Confess your sins to God, and Jesus will give you health. “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,..” (Luke 4:18 NIV). Jesus is your healer, and only He can heal without money. Remember that God’s wish above all things, that you live in good health.
For all the sick readers, I want you to apply these few steps in your life, and see miracles of healing come to you in a short time from today! I am saying this not to feed your weakness, but to empower and remind you that there is a great power in the reading, professing and believing the word of God.
This is KEY…
2. “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” (Proverbs 17:22 NIV). Develop another avenue of making yourself happy. Reject putting your life, happiness or needs into anybody’s control, but God alone. Be cheerful even in your sickness, and tell yourself what you want to be. Remember that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” (Proverbs 18:21 KJV), so what you believe is what you say, what you say is what you receive and what you receive is what you have. Wow!
3. “Say to him: ‘Long life to you! Good health to you and your household! And good health to all that is yours! (1 Samuel 25:6 NIV). Become your prophet. Profess life on yourself, and believe it will come to pass. It will surely fulfill.
4. “But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him” (Luke 22:51 NIV). At this point, if you are not ‘Born-Again’, that is to say, having Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will not heal. Becoming a born-again Christian, allows the indwelling Holy Spirit to work and walk with you, and your spirit and body. Do not ignore your condition. Remember, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.
Scripture of the day: I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10 NKJV).
