Daily Devotional | To God’s Glory

John 15:16 NKJV
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”

Rather by choice, chased, called, sanctified, anointed or blessed, They are all considered a gift of God. Regardless who you are, your walk with the Lord or your calling, it is a gift of God, and no amount of money, connection  or service can earn that for you. God gives you the gift, period. Do not let who you think you are separate you from whom God wants you to be.

Do you know that anything you do without giving God His glory is a sin? You are called to succeed, and to use your gifts to bring glory to God! Are you doing that or taking credit for yourself? Evil people do things for show so that man will acknowledge them, but the righteous man does it to glorify the Lord. “If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent perversion of justice and righteousness in a province, do not marvel at the matter; for high official watches over high official, and higher officials are over them” (Ecclesiastes 5:8 NKJV).

Have you witnessed how evil people oppress the lowly and meek ones? Have you seen a world full of hate, lies, conspiracies, divisions, deprivation, injustices, …? Do you wonder why God is quiet? Well, the scriptures has to be fulfilled, so that the faithfulness of the Lord is revealed to the righteous.

According to Apostle John, abiding in the commandment of God; loving each other without limit empowers us to bear greater fruits. Most times, people are not ‘Totally’ fulfilled whenever they compromise this rule of loving genuinely. As Christ loved us (John 3:16), died for us even while we are still sinners (Romans 5:8), so are we required to love God and our brethrens. The act of genuine love releases divine establishment, and when you are divinely established, you will prosper in the physical, both financially, your health and security.

Another reward of living to glorify God is the availability of God to you always, on time and on target. Understanding that doing God’s will gladdens His heart, it is an advantage to take whenever you are seeking a divine connection. God is faithful, and will not change His promises. As He promise, so He will bring it to pass (Isaiah 55:10, 11). You better believe… every promise of God in Christ Jesus is yes and Amen (2 Corinthians 1:20).

As you meditate on these questions today, what are you going to do differently as you continue to live your life? Are you living to glorify the Lord or yourself? Are you willing to make that shift glorifying the Lord? What are you believing God for? Are you getting tired in your walk with Christ, or getting stronger even in the mist of storms? You should be stronger, wiser, tougher and more focused. Jesus said this word as an encouragement to His disciples “Jesus answered them,  Do you now believe?  Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.  These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:31-33 NKJV). Are you of good cheer?

Friends, obedience to God, His word and those He sent is important. If you live a life of obedience, as He conquered, you also will conquer. Make a decision today to live to glorify God, and you will be blessed. “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you” (John 15:14 NKJV)

Scripture of the day: Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy. ~ Psalm 99:5 NIV
