Daily Devotional | Overcoming Guilt Within

Romans 3:23, 24 AMP
“Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives. [All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,”

OVERCOMING GUILT is a personal decision every believer has to make. Whenever you feel guilty or oppressed, speak out loud the scripture that says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”(Romans 3:23-24). “And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem (put your name) rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?” (Zechariah 3:2). As a Christian under God’s construction, you are not alone in sin. Everybody around you regardless who they are, sins. God says so, so do not count yourself out except when repentance is not  your agenda.

Guilt is a spiritual oppression of the devil that makes a person unforgiving of the wrongs they have done, either to themselves or to others. Many times, this demon deludes a person to do more evil as to make them run from or see God as an enemy and an unforgiving God. Lies! Lies!! Lies!!! This is wrong doctrine, from Satan, the master of lies.

It is okay to have a convicting of guilt, that which comes through listening to the gospel of Jesus Christ. The conviction of sin through the Holy Spirit, not the judging accusations from Satan and his demons that results in fear and rejection. The Holy Ghost’s conviction is supposed to lead one to the Cross, but satan’s accusations leads to guilt. It leads to an overflow, and has been one of the many reasons most backsliding christians do not recover easily; They become guilty, ashamed and angry.

Jesus is our Savior, and by this, I mean all people, sinners of any race, nationality, creed and color. You are disqualified ONLY if you reject Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Occasionally, the devil intones lies that make people only see the Cross as a place for the forgiven, not a place for the offenders and sinners. This is another lie! Through guilt, un- forgiveness and fear, the devil dominates his prey. Always remember that Without a sinner or sin, there would not be a reason for the Calvary, jesus said, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Luke 5:32).

Guilt as a sinner is another sin. With guilty living, most believers finds it difficult to accept God’s forgiveness for their sins. This is another sin. God can not lie, and when He forgives, He wipes it all out.

Guilt is the result of not having the right information about God and his power to save. It mounts when believers begin to believe lies, or start to live lies. When you believe lies,  you diminish God.  Men will trust their good works, instead of the finished work of Jesus on the Cross. This again is another sin that leads to eternal damnation. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18)

As a Christian, knowing and believing these three verses of John 3 should give you an ease, and empower you to repel all fears by accepting God’s forgiveness and shame of the devil.

The word guilty means condemned or sentenced. Most people who feels guilty of any particular offense often times live with a mask. This mask is a scar of pain that for a long time have refused every spiritual therapy that only God can give. People living in guilt are often offended by the joy of the free, sad at every joke, sensitive to the humor of others, angry at themselves and other people’s success.  The only way out is to deal with it head-on, confess it to a trusted spiritual leader, and follow the Biblical steps into pure healing. The Bible says that, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:1). At this point, if you are not a believer in Jesus Christ, do so, and your life will be renewed.

Remember, anything that has secrets is of darkness, and darkness is satanic, and this leads to guilt, pain, fear and death.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36). What are you waiting for? Turn your mourning into a dance of a lifetime. Jesus has paved the way. Praise the Lord….! Amen

Scripture of the day: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” ~ (1 John 1:9).
