Romans 2:13 NIV
“For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.”
Are you like Noah, who lived his life in faithfulness and in obedience to God? Do you hear God when He speaks and whispers to your ears the things to come and warns you of what is to come on earth?
What is the ark? It is the covenant with God, the covenant with Jesus Christ that will save us from the wrath of God. If we do not build the ark, or the safe house, Temple of God, we will all be under the wrath of God. The Bible teaches us: “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so too it will be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man.” (Matthew 24:37)
So many start building, but do not finish. God warns us by saying: “Be aware how you build, there is only one foundation and that is Jesus Christ. “ It is not Christian work, or our good works, or religion that will build the foundation or finish the work of building the ark. It is only a true living relationship with Jesus Christ, that will save us from God’s wrath, which in the end of time, comes in the form of burning fire, instead of a flood.
We start well, but then the world entices us, or worries come, we start slacking and walking in other directions and do not finish the building. And, if we miss finishing building our house according to God’s instructions, we lose our heavenly reward. Think about it, If we stop breathing, we die, the same way, if we stop living in Christ, obeying Him, we die spiritually. There is only true Life in Christ. And, the Life is obedience to Christ and knowledge of Him.
As God told Noah to build an ark, God is telling us to build a house, His Holy Temple, also called, God’s Kingdom within us.
Noah was faithful to God and obeyed God in everything, and therefore he and his household were saved. By faith, Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
Are we obeying God in everything and following His instructions, so that we and our whole household will be saved as God has promised to those who follow Jesus Christ and obey Him in everything?
God is telling us to build a house, dig very deep, and lay the foundation on the rock. When the house is founded on a rock, it will not be shaken when troubles come. Why? Because the Rock on which God is asking us to build, is Jesus Christ. God has given all the Power on heaven and earth to His Son, Jesus Christ. The Rock on which God builds His Church is the Revelation of Jesus Christ, and thus, who Jesus Christ really is; He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, whom we are to obey in everything. And, the life of Jesus Christ rises in the human heart from death to becoming alive through faith in and obedience to Christ, our Salvation, and our Lord. When He matures in us from birth to adulthood, through our obedience to Him, as God instructs us, our house gets stronger and stronger and will be able to stand when torrent comes.
Earthly or worldly people are building their lives, their houses, on their own wisdom and understanding, based on worldly means and wealth. Houses that are built on sand are mere shacks in God eyes. When torrent comes, the fall of their houses, lives, will be great. Why…? because the houses, their lives, were not built on God’s Wisdom and according to His specific instructions.
The house is to be built through Wisdom of God, Jesus Christ, and established by Understanding. “Fear of the Lord is beginning of Wisdom; and the knowledge of the holy is understanding,” (Proverbs 9:10) “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24)
We must understand that our labor is completely vain in building our lives, our houses, if the builder is not Jesus Christ. The house will collapse eventually. That is God’s instructions and His Word. He is warning us in Love, because He wants everyone to come to the knowledge of salvation and build their lives through Faith in Jesus Christ and through His specific instructions. We are to live our lives through Jesus Christ.
Notice that we are asked to dig deep. This is not to be taken lightly. Are you listening? The Lord never said we would not have trouble in the world, but He promised to keep us safe and give us peace in Him. It is not enough that we hear the Word, or God’s instructions, but we must put His Word and instructions into practice; obey them, regardless what our common sense, or world says, or what is regarded as OK in this world. We are not to follow the world’s ways, but God Himself and His instructions.
Are you listening to the Lord? He is telling us, in the end times, to build an ark as he told Noah. The Lord wants us to build a house that is within us, in our hearts that will keep us safe in this world from the devil’s schemes and from God’s wrath-the wrath that comes against disobedient people and to those who have ignored His Salvation?
God did not send His only Begotten Son on the Cross for us to ignore Jesus Christ and not live our lives for Him. As He gave His life to us, we are to give our lives in thankfulness to Him, crucify our sinful flesh and obey Him. There cannot be two Lords in our lives, either we obey Christ or we obey ourselves. Just as God told Noah to build an ark that would save him and his household from the flood that swept over the earth, He is calling us to do the same. Are we listening? Are we obeying God as Noah did? are we building our house on the Everlasting Rock that is Jesus Christ and obedience to Him? “Follow Me….”(Luke 18:22), He is calling. Will you go?
Scripture of the day: Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” ~ John 14:6
