Daily Devotional | Filling The Vacuum Within

Matthew 6:33 NKJV
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

In a world of great need and many challenges, it is possible for us to deviate from the giver of all things – God. We start to dictate and pursue our own selfish desires. This introduces a crises that as a man, we were not created or prepared to undertake. Jesus gave the remedy for all crises; marital, financial, health, psychological, spiritual…I can conclusively say that any life that is ‘Christless’ is a life in ‘Crises’. That implies that a man can gain all things, and lose his soul (Matthew 16:26), and as well, finding Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior can, not only make things better, but as well destroy the terrors of death and hell.

Everyday, there is a call to all men to come to God and be forgiven of their sins, all of it! But at this present time, many are following the deceitfulness of Satan and his demons, going after the doctrines of hell; what their pricking ears wants to hear. There is only one way out, Jesus Christ, the only one God ordained to save sinners. Do you know Him?

Deviating from the truth of God creates a vacuum within. These various vacuums are relative to the various desires and lifestyles, as one will find it deem to choose. In the great commission, Jesus told us believers to “… Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.  And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;  they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:15-18 NKJV)
The keyword here is to “GO!”. The word go simply means to resist stagnation, idleness but to be active and productive. We are set to fill the entire universe with the good news of the Christ; that all sinners are redeemed if ONLY they can believe, accept and follow Christ as Lord and Savior.  Do not be marveled that a different sermon is being preached today. The devil is lurking into the Grace of God as the impunity for evil practices. Grace is for salvation not for salivation a.k.a lusts.

As we will see today, the law of God is made to be obeyed. Example is the servant of Jesus that went fishing instead of preaching the gospel. Working all night, did not catch a single fish. “Simon Peter said to them, I am going fishing. But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to them,  Children, have you any food? They answered Him, No.” (John 21:3-5 NKJV) “He said to Simon, Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch. But Simon answered and said to Him, Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”(Luke 5:4, 5 NKJV).

On Luke’s account, Peter, re-affirms that his deviation from the instructions of Jesus gave his toiling no fruit; hence a vacuum. How many of us can relate to this? Are you the person that is doing all you can to survive and ignore God’s command to you? Is sickness, loss, bondage, fear plaguing you? Are you desolate in your endeavor, dealing with a hopeless situation regarding your marriage, children, health, dreams and business?

You may not know this, but only a truthful evaluation in the office of the Holy Spirit will convince you that you are ignoring or rebelling against God’s commandment in your life. “What do I do”, you may ask? The Answer is REPENT by asking God to revive you, and surrender to His will for you, then with patience, claim your blessings. Moses said to the Israelites, “But the word  is  very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it. See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.” (Deuteronomy 30:14-16 NKJV), and Joshua continued by saying, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8 NKJV). Everything we need is in the presence of God, and is reserved for those that truly worship and obey Him.

You are a chosen child of God, and you must remember that God Loves all His children, including you (John 3:16), and regardless the darts of Satan towards you in the form of accusations, sickness and lack, if you remain focused and faithful, you will blossom. Remember the war is for your soul. “And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Revelation 12:7-9 NKJV)

Your weapon of warfare is the same weapon Christ used; sacrifice, obedience to God, faithfulness, love and surrendering to the will of God. “And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” (Revelation 12:7-9, 11 NKJV)

Are you in any habit? Filling the vacuums in your life with substances eg. Drugs and alcohol, things, lifestyles, traveling, food, and excuses? The time is near and short. There is but a friend that is closer than a mother; Jesus Christ. If you make him the Lord of your life, He will fill the void in you, and today! It’s just that simple! The bible says, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”(Romans 10:9 NKJV). By confessing and believing, it means to share the testimony of your deliverance and how your faith in Jesus alone brought the life-giving transformation. I can testify that it works.

Are you still selfish instead of selfless, proud instead of humble, giving excuses instead of receiving the grace, cover-up instead of confessing your faults? Remember the “whom Christ sets free is freed forever”. And you can be the next, but the key is to “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33 NKJV)

God bless you.

Scripture of the day: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33 NKJV)
