Daily Devotional | “Blessed Are Those Who Have Not Seen And Yet Have Believed.”

John 20:29
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

How many of you out there are still waiting on God to show Himself in your life? Do you still believe?

It’s easy to believe in something that you see. Many people need proof before they can believe in anything. But the word says, Blessed are those who believe when there is no evidence of an answer to prayer—who trust beyond hope when all means have failed.

We or Someone we know has come to the place of hopelessness –the end of hope — the end of all means. A loved one is facing death and doctors are unable to give hope. Death seems inevitable. Hope is gone. The miracle prayed for is not happening.

If you can relate, be Careful! This is when satan will come to attack your mind with fear, anger, and overwhelming questions: Where is God? You prayed until you had no tears left. You fasted. You stood on promises. You trusted, Where is He? Does He exist?

We are all human and have experienced doubt at some point or another. However, staying in this mindset is what poses a serious threat to our spiritual life because this is when we start to seek other means other than God to rectify the trials and tribulations in our lives.

To those going through the valley and shadow of death: “weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”(Psalm 30:5) In that darkness you will soon hear the Father whisper, I am with you. I cannot tell you why right now, but one day it will all make sense. You will see it was all part of God’s plan. What you are facing is no accident. It was no failure on your part. Hold fast and BELIEVE even though you do not have empirical evidence. Remember that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

I encourage you this week to really meditate on the fact that Jesus is alive. Trusting this will change your life in big and small ways. Jesus promised those who believe without seeing Him will be blessed. Amen and Amen!

Scripture of the day: “For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?” ~ Romans 8:24
