“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”
Most of the battles we face in our life starts in our mind. Did you know this? This is the first place the enemy will attack you. What we think determines rather we win or lose our battle against satan.
You must deal with yourself before you have authority to deal with the devil. Sometimes we all have to take a personal assessment to see where our heart and mind is. Let’s look at some questions and answer them truthfully:
(1) Am I walking with God?
(2) Is there any known sin that is unrepented? (see psalm 139:23-24)
(3) Am I obedient? Is there anything I am not doing God told me to do or anything I am still doing that God told me not to do?
(4) Are my relationships right? Is there offense, unforgiveness, bitterness, or jealousy in my life?
(5) Am I in faith? Is there doubt, fear, worries, anxieties or unbelief ruling my life?
(6) Are my words right? Are my words in alignment with what God says about me? (see proverbs 6:2)
(7) Are my thoughts right? (see proverbs 23:7)
There’s a very truthful statement that goes like this: sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit, sow a habit reap a character; sow a character and reap a destiny.
Did you know your destiny is a result of the person you have allowed yourself to become which developed because of the patterns of behavior you have developed in every area of your life. A habit only begins with a single act. A single act opens the door for a habit to be formed. Your single act is a response to the thoughts you have allowed to run through and control your mind. You must back up all the way from behavior and deal with the very first thought that entered your mind. Otherwise, your mind will become a demonic playground. Having such a mind will lead to an unproductive life.
Deviating from God is now more dire than ever, especially for this generation. The distractions we are faced with daily is enough to lead the most faithful Christian astray…television, music, pornography, new age religion, materialism, and the list goes on and on.
1 Peter 4:1 says, “Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind…” You see, the Lord wants us to arm ourselves with a mind that’s dead to the world’s barbs against us. If you arm yourselves like Jesus did, you can have Jesus results. He accomplished the perfect will of God. I don’t know about you, but I want to accomplish the perfect will of God for my life. You do this by having a humble mind filled with meekness and longsuffering.
Confess!! Ask God to forgive you. After all, persecutions came Jesus’ way and He dealt with it successfully. So can you. Renew your mind with the word daily so you can be successful in the things of God. Reading God’s word should be a priority like waking up and going to work, taking a shower, eating, and breathing.
Scripture of the day: “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” ~ 1 John 4:4
