Daily Devotional | Living In The Peace Of God

Matthew 5:9 NKJV
“Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.”

LIVING IN THE PEACE OF GOD Is a divine ministration, and this will not only heal all whom are worrisome due to lack, sickness or oppression, but also those going through any kind of spiritual warfare. Peace is a blessing of God, and must be kept in your deepest closet; your heart. Jesus Said; “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” (Matthew 5:9).Don’t let anybody get into that closet, except you! It must be protected by all means, for once lost, it is hard to retrieve!!

Peace, or do I say perfect peace, is a gift of God to everyone that calls Him Father. So, when my peace, your peace, our peace is unstable, this should be the first sign of noticing the enemy’s presence. At this point, self-evaluation becomes important to close all the cracks through which the enemy enters.

Jesus said; “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27 NKJV)

Receiving and keeping anything from God commands having Faith in Him, no exceptions. Thus the Bible says; “But without faith it is impossible to please Him,  for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV).

Here, Faith becomes the absolute factor that determines your commitment to God, and anything short of that creates a gateway for the enemy’s operations, which will  deplete the divine peace and substitute it with worries!

LIVING IN THE PEACE OF GOD therefore is driven by  (1). The principle of Obedience, and (2). The office of the Holy Spirit.

Oftentimes, we assume knowing more than out teacher, but many who tried it will testify that without God’s Spirit, man is but a dust, messed up, confused, worried, defeated and helpless.

Today, we are going to see the steps according to Apostle Paul to the Philippian Church on how to live in the peace of God. Please, Go with me to PHILIPPIANS 4:4-9,17-19

1. “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! (Philippians 4:4 NKJV).

You must make the Lord the source of your joy, not man, woman or things. If you do, then God Himself will supply all the physical attributes. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33 NKJV)

2. “Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord  is  at hand.” (Philippians 4:5 NKJV).

Gentleness here translates Humility. A humble person will recognize the flow of he Holy Spirit. Such a person is highly favored, not only by God, but also men. Please do not take humility for quietness or pretenses. It simply means the fear of God, and allowing His word mold you regardless the cost.

INSTRUCTIONS:

3. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”(Philippians 4:6, 7 NKJV)

Anxiety is caused by a lack of confidence, or distrust in one’s self. Result is Greed, anger, envy, jealousy, impatience, unfaithfulness, etc. can all cause anxiety.  Consequences are sickness, separation from God and death. Anxiousness means to be worried!

When anxious, the solution to overcome are;

1. PRAYER

2. SUPPLICATION

3. THANKSGIVING

4. ASK YOUR NEED (Matthew 7:7).

Because God is faithful to the faithful and obedient believers, our requests will be met, therefore replenishing our peace; both internal and external (what our needs are).

Jesus told His disciples; “Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? (Matthew 6:30 NKJV)

KEY TO KEEPING/RECEIVING YOUR PEACE

4. “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things  are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things  are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if  there is  any virtue and if  there is  anything  praiseworthy, meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:8, 9 NKJV)

It is possible to go to school without the school going through us. James put it this way; “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.” (James 1:22-24 NIV)

Stay blessed. Peace!

Scripture of the day: “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will  have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”  ~ John 16:33
